Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH) helps people achieve positive change. Rather than focusing on the ‘problem’, this approach centres around the solutions. Using practical strategies, solution-focused hypnotherapy looks to inspire change in how you think and how you react.

Focuses on the Present and Future

Solution Focused’ Hypnotherapy (SFH) looks at where you are now, what you want to achieve and how you can move towards that future, rather than dwelling on past issues.

Positive and Solution-oriented

Focuses on the positive aspects of a client's life and their ability to create change, encouraging a sense of hope and optimism. SFH draws upon the principles of Solution Focused Brief Therapy ( SFBT), which identifies solutions, building on successes, and focusing on small steps towards a desired future in a short space of time. It does NOT focus on the cause i.e. the past, childhood, life experiences, or traumas.

Identifying the positives

After the Initial Consultation session, every session that follows will start with getting you to recognise the goods and positives in your life. You will be surprised how you may have none at the start and finish the session with a long list. The aim is to get you to acknowledge “what is “good”. creating new neural pathways with the sub-conscious. This releases healthy endorphines through the body and happy neurotransmitters in the brain which is what we need to feel good.

Talking therapy style questions, digging deep into your thoughts, will help you stay focused on how you can change and improve your mental well-being. We will get you to visualise your life as you want it.

Setting Goals

In each session I will work with you to define your own clear and specific goals to move you further towards the desired achievements and to help you live that life you have visualised.

Relaxation/Trance

  • At the end of each session, once we’ve explored what you want and clearly visualised it, you’ll be guided into a gentle trance — a deep, soothing relaxation where your mind becomes calm, focused and open.

  • In this state, we can access your positive subconscious mind and begin creating the changes you’ve been longing for.

  • Your brain starts working on the goals you’ve visualised, building new pathways and responses. This is real brain training — a powerful shift away from old habits of dwelling on problems, feeding stress, or spiralling into anxiety.

  • Instead, you begin retraining the brain to respond with clarity, confidence and calm.

  • And all you need is somewhere comfortable to settle — your bed, sofa or favourite chair — plus a cosy blanket so you can completely let go and relax

Looking for a therapist can be daunting and you have to know it is the right therapist for you. So there are a couple of things below that you may want to consider before you decide to make the call.

  • You want face to face meetings with a therapist - I operate as an online hypnotherapist so I can reach out to as many people as I can UK wide and for those who prefer the comfort of their own home. I can arrange face to face locally if necessary however, I would suggest trying the online approach first before deciding . Online and face to face do work the same, its purely a personal preference to individuals. The free initial consultation can be held online so you can make a decision if it works for you .

  • You do not have a device with a video facility- Although I operate online, that doesn’t mean I don’t need to see your face and vice versa so, we need to be able to communicate via video. Having a device with access to a visual call facility is a must.
